South Dakota


South Dakota is known for bison, rodeos, and cowboys. However, did you know one of the largest sculptures in the world is being built in the state of South Dakota. The Crazy Horse Memorial, which is located in the center of the Black Hills was started in 1948. Seventy years later the sculpture continues to be built. Crazy Horse was a Oglala Lakota warrior who is being honored for his leadership and courage.
